Hello! My name is Hannah Ramsdell and I am a pre-service teacher. I studied at Indiana University in order to be awarded my degree in Elementary Education. I have had many amazing experiences through Indiana University that have shaped me to be the educator that I am today. Some of these experiences include an education based living-learning community, service learning opportunities, and student teaching overseas. As I begin my career in teaching, I aim to teach upper-elementary education, but am open to all elementary grade levels. Based on my degree in Elementary Education, I am prepared to teach all subject matter! I am very eager to begin my career as an educator.

I believe that technology is a very beneficial tool to have in the classroom. Technological tools have the ability to be efficient, engaging, enhancing, and effective. I feel that technology in the classroom is efficient and effective because it allows me as the teacher to do teacher tasks in minimal time. It is also effective because the students are able to access any information they need and in turn use technology to display that they understand the information. Technology is engaging and enhancing because it attracts students attention and allows them to learn in a way that would otherwise not be possible. Technology also allows me to differentiate instruction in a more productive way then without it. In this day and age children are attracted to technology, so by incorporating it into the classroom, the students learn appropriate ways to use to it! We will also use technology to partake in project based learning. I feel this type of learning is very beneficial to the students because they are able to collaborate on ideas to problem solve real world situations! In my classroom, students will use technology to create projects, research information, collaborate with peers, and for numerous other educational purposes!

My Beliefs on Technology in the Classroom
Anchor 1

I have many beliefs about the art of education, but the point I feel most strongly about is putting the students needs ahead of all else. I feel that the students should always come first and that as a teacher I should do everything in my power to help them succeed. With this being said, I feel that a community atmosphere leads to success in the classroom. The students should feel welcome in their environment so that they can be at their academic best. In order to create a positive classroom climate, the students and I spend time discussing how to be a positive part of a community. Another way we create community is by doing many group projects. This allows the students to work as teams and collaborate. Throughout the year we will all work together to reach our goals as individuals and as a community!
